What we offer

• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a clinically proven therapy for processing traumatic memories, reducing anxiety and rebuilding wellbeing. It is recommended by NICE guidelines and the World Health Organisation.
• You do not need to talk through every detail of what happened. EMDR works by helping the brain process memories that have become stuck so they lose their power over your everyday life.
• We always start slowly. The first sessions are about getting to know each other, building safety, and learning how EMDR works. No trauma processing happens until you are genuinely ready and you are in control at all times.
• Particularly effective for: PTSD, single-incident trauma (accidents, assault, bereavement), developmental and childhood trauma, anxiety and panic, phobias, low self-esteem, sleep difficulties.

• Children and young people respond very well to EMDR but the approach looks different to adult therapy, and that is a good thing.
• Before any session with a child, we always speak to parents or carers first. We want to understand your child's interests, their history, and what matters to them so that when we meet, we can bring the right things into the room.
• Early sessions are about building trust and a sense of safety. We might play a game, make something, or just talk. We are assessing how your child handles different situations but for them, it just feels like spending time with someone who is interested in them.
• Parents are welcome to stay in sessions, especially in the early stages. For online sessions, a parent or carer must be in the house, and we agree clear safety arrangements before we begin.
